The Gobble Song

I was at the Santa Barbara farmers' market a few months ago when I ran into Spencer, who asked me to post this on my internet web site at Thanksgiving and thank god Jack brought it up or I would have forgotten. The video itself is pretty domestic but it holds you if you live here and want to play "spot the local" -- look, there's Willie, the old bartender at Jimmy's Oriental Gardens, where Jack and I first met! This song has a tendency to wrap itself around your brain stem and not let go, and I promised Spencer I'd do what I could to propel it into the sparsely populated pantheon of Thanksgiving classics. I think his real hope is that every football game half-time in America will have this blasting over the loudspeakers while people flap their elbow-wings and peck at each other. Good luck, Spencer! I hope all your dreams come true.
